Entering Schengen with EES: Who Must Provide Biometric Data?

The Entry/Exit System (EES) will be fully operational from 10 April 2026 in the 29 countries using it. Non-EU nationals travelling for short stays will generally have their facial image and fingerprints recorded or checked, while some residence-permit holders and people in specific categories are exempt.
