If you have just configured Yandex Webmaster for a WordPress website, do not mark it “complete” simply because the website appears in the list or management access has been verified. You still need to check the official URL, sitemap, accessibility, a sample URL, alerts, and search data.
By the end of this article, you will have an acceptance checklist with three statuses—“Passed,” “Needs attention,” and “No data yet”—a review schedule for days 1, 3, 7, 14, and 30, and a log template showing what to do next time. This is a recommended monitoring process, not a guarantee that the website will be indexed or receive visits within 30 days.
Distinguishing a successful setup from search performance
Yandex Webmaster has separate areas for website management, access verification, crawl monitoring, indexing, and search-query reporting. Therefore, adding a website, verifying access, submitting a sitemap, a bot visiting a URL, a URL being included in search, and a URL receiving clicks are different outcomes (according to yandex.com).
- Website added: the address appears in the account.
- Access verified: Yandex has accepted evidence that you control the website.
- Sitemap accepted: the file has been submitted, but this does not mean that every URL in it has been indexed.
- Bot has visited: the bot identified or downloaded the URL at a particular point in time.
- Included in search: the URL may appear for relevant queries, but this still does not guarantee rankings or clicks.
For SaibABC.Com, keep the placeholders [URL chính thức của website], [URL sitemap đã kiểm tra] and [URL bài viết công khai] unchanged until you can verify the actual data. The example website name is not evidence that setup has been completed.
Prepare the acceptance checklist
You need a Yandex account with permission to view the website, WordPress access—or a colleague who can check the hosting or DNS when necessary—and a verified public article URL. If you do not have sufficient access or evidence, record No data yet; do not change the configuration merely to turn every row into “Passed.”
| Item | Passes when | Evidence to retain | If it does not pass |
|---|---|---|---|
| Canonical URL | The protocol and www prefix match the version you intend to manage. | The final URL after opening it in a private window; date checked. | Record “Not finalized”; do not change DNS or redirects on your own. |
| Management access | The assigned account and role are correct. | Account name, role, and person responsible. | Ask the owner; do not share passwords. |
| Verification | Yandex displays a successful verification status. | Verification method and date. | Check the evidence required for that method. |
| Sitemap | The actual sitemap URL opens while logged out and belongs to the correct website. | File URL, response when opened, and status in Webmaster. | Check the file generated by WordPress or the plugin. |
| Accessibility | The homepage and sample URL open without an unexpected login requirement. | Final URL, response code if available, and check date. | Check the server, redirects, protection layers, and blocking directives. |
| Sample URL | A real public article checked in the URL or indexing section. | URL, date, status, and evidence. | Do not conclude that the URL has not been indexed merely because the report is empty. |
| Warnings | Read and classify each notification. | Warning name, severity, and next action. | Do not bulk-delete robots.txt, noindex directives, or security settings. |
| Search reports | Know the date range, filters, and data status. | Date range, region, device, query, or URL. | Record “No data”; do not change it to “zero performance.” |
Complete the acceptance check in order to avoid misreading the data
1. Verify the URL and permissions
Where to work: the website selector in Yandex Webmaster and a private browsing window. Compare the domain, protocol, and www with the final URL when opening the website. For example, https://www.example.com is not automatically the same managed address as the HTTP or non- www (according to yandex.com).
If the actual SaibABC.Com version has not been checked, keep [URL chính thức của website]. A successful result means you can answer: “Which website am I viewing, which account am I using, and who has permission to change the configuration?” If you cannot answer these questions, record Needs attention and do not read the reports yet.
2. Check that the verification evidence still exists
Successful verification only proves that Yandex accepted the evidence of management authority. A meta tag may be overwritten by a plugin or theme, an HTML file may be deleted, and a DNS record may be changed. Record the method used and where the evidence is located.
- Meta tag: open the public source code of the relevant page, not just the interface while logged in to WordPress.
- HTML file: open the exact path while logged out and compare its contents.
- DNS TXT record: record the name/host, value, and time the record was created; do not delete the old record before assessing the impact.
If the evidence has disappeared, restore the previous value or repeat the method using the permissions you have. There is no need to change the entire DNS configuration or disable all protection layers.
3. Check the actual sitemap
Where to work: use a browser first, then the sitemap section in Yandex Webmaster. Open [URL sitemap đã kiểm tra] in a private browsing window. The file must belong to the correct website, load successfully, and contain the URLs you actually want the search engine to discover. WordPress or an SEO plugin may generate a sitemap index rather than a single file; use the active address instead of guessing the path.
Compare the URL you opened with the submitted sitemap. A sitemap helps bots discover new URLs, but file acceptance and URL indexing are different statuses. Yandex documentation states that the bot’s sitemap check may take up to about two weeks; this is not a guarantee that all URLs will be indexed (according to yandex.com).
Passed: you have the actual sitemap URL, the check date, and the status after submission. No data: you know the file exists but have not yet seen a processing status. Needs attention: the file has an error, requires login, belongs to the wrong domain, or contains many URLs that should not be public.
4. Check accessibility and one sample URL
Where to work: use a browser and the URL inspection or indexing section in Yandex Webmaster. Select a real public article; do not use an admin URL, draft, or guessed path on SaibABC.Com. Record the following:
- the entered URL and the final URL after redirects;
- whether the page opens while logged out;
- the response code or message displayed by the tool, if available;
- the crawling, indexing, or search status when data is available;
- the check date and next action.
A 200 OK code only indicates a successful HTTP response; it is not enough to conclude that the URL has been indexed. Conversely, an empty report is not enough to conclude that the URL was excluded. Distinguish between a bot having accessed the URL, the URL having been processed, and the URL being eligible to appear in search results (according to yandex.com).
If you need a more detailed check, you can use the single-URL indexing checklist and add the results to your 30-day log.
5. Review warnings before assessing search performance
Open the Diagnostics and Notifications sections, then classify each item:
| Category | Signs | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Requires action | Server errors, inaccessible URLs, sitemap errors, incorrect blocking directives, or lost verification access. | Record the likely cause, evidence, person responsible, and how the issue will be checked again. |
| May be expected | Duplicate, redirected, administrative, or intentionally non-indexable URLs. | Check the URL’s purpose before making changes; do not try to put every page into search results. |
| No data yet | An empty report, no recorded bot visit, or no queries yet. | Check the date range, filters, access permissions, and URL, then continue monitoring. |
Yandex states that diagnostic checks are run daily. After fixing an issue, you can mark it as resolved and wait for the bot to check it again; the information may take several more days to update. For some errors, the request-for-review button may be disabled for 30 days, so do not resubmit repeatedly without a genuine change (according to yandex.com).
If you need to review warnings and excluded pages separately, see how to read Yandex Webmaster warnings instead of changing configuration settings in bulk.
30-day monitoring schedule
The checkpoints below are a recommended management schedule for a website that has just completed setup, not deadlines guaranteed by Yandex.
| Checkpoint | Task | Evidence | Decision |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Review the URL, account, permissions, verification, sitemap, and sample URL. | Acceptance checklist, sitemap URL, verification method, and sample URL. | Mark it Passed, Requires action, or No data yet. |
| Day 3 | Read notifications and diagnostics; check the sitemap and the sample URL’s response. | A screenshot of the actual interface if you have permission to use it, or notes recording the status, date, and filters. | Fix issues supported by evidence; do not make changes merely because a report is empty. |
| Day 7 | Recheck the sample URL and crawl statistics, if this section is available. | URL, response code, and crawl/indexing status. | If no data is available, record the status accurately and continue monitoring. |
| Day 14 | Read the query report with the correct date range, region, device, and view. | Impressions, clicks, CTR, and position, if available, together with the filters. | Choose one data-supported issue to investigate rather than optimizing everything at once. |
| Day 30 | Compare the results with Day 1; review changes to HTTPS, the domain, the site design, SEO plugins, and content. | Comparison table, change log, and outstanding warnings. | Maintain the regular schedule, create specific remediation tasks, or contact support. |
In the query report, record the date range and filters as well. Metrics such as impressions, clicks, CTR, and position can be viewed by query or URL; the data varies by region, device, and date range (according to yandex.com).
Monitoring log template
Copy the following template into a spreadsheet or management document:
Ngày kiểm tra:

Khoảng thời gian, khu vực và thiết bị lọc:
Hạng mục:
- URL chính thức:
- Quyền quản lý:

Record “no data yet” when you have no evidence. Do not write “not indexed” simply because you did not see the URL in a single search; do not write “resolved” merely because you changed the configuration; and do not write “penalized” simply because some pages were excluded.
When should you perform additional checks?

Perform an unscheduled check when you:
- switch from HTTP to HTTPS or change the domain or domain prefix
www; - changing the theme, SEO plugin, sitemap-generation plugin, or verification-code insertion plugin;
- editing robots.txt, noindex, canonical, redirects, or the server security layer;
- adding, deleting, or changing the URLs of multiple articles;
- receiving security warnings, server errors, or losing verification access.
Before making changes, save the previous values. After saving, check the public URL and notify Yandex again only about URLs that genuinely need it. The Reindex pages feature is used to notify Yandex about new or updated pages, but a “submitted” status is not evidence that a URL has been indexed (according to yandex.com).
If the website’s URLs or structure have changed, see when to ask Yandex to recrawl a page to choose the appropriate notification method.
Rollback: restore the correct tag, file, DNS record, robots.txt file, or plugin setting saved earlier. Do not bulk-delete DNS records, verification codes, or security settings. If you cannot determine the cause, stop making changes and proceed to further checks or contact support.
When should you contact Yandex Support?
Prepare the website URL, sample URL, account or role, time when the problem began, recent changes, the exact error message, and evidence of the checks you performed. Consider contacting support if you have verified the correct URL and permissions but still cannot add the website; cannot complete verification even though the publicly accessible evidence matches; a URL does not update after it becomes accessible and you submit it for processing; or a major indexing change remains unexplained after a thorough technical review (according to yandex.com).
Do not submit a request merely because a report has no data on the first day. First check the website, filters, date range, and URL evidence.
Illustrations for the editorial process
If you create an image with AI, use a conceptual diagram such as website → search bot → indexing data → report. Do not use an AI-generated image that pretends to be the Yandex Webmaster, WordPress, or DNS interface. During editing, you may add genuine interface screenshots collected lawfully; a screenshot is not evidence of the actual status of SaibABC.Com.
Acceptance exercise
- Choose one genuine public article URL.
- Complete all eight rows in the acceptance checklist.
- Record the current status of each row; do not rely on assumptions.
- Schedule checks for days 1, 3, 7, 14, and 30 after the setup is completed.
- At each checkpoint, record an evidence-backed change and one next action.
The exercise is complete when someone else can read the log and answer four questions: which URL are you managing, which account are you using, what is the current status of the sample URL, and what needs to be done at the next check?
What you should have after 30 days
The required outcome is not a promised traffic figure. It is an auditable record: the official URL is clear, the permissions and verification method are documented, the sitemap is a real file, the sample URL has a checking history, warnings are classified, reports have clear filters, and every significant change has a rollback path.
If there is still no search data after 30 days, leave that status unchanged in the log. Continue checking accessibility, URL status, and warnings; optimize the content or technical setup only when you have a specific question and supporting evidence.
