For a Blogspot blog, you can usually verify ownership with the same Google Account that manages Blogger, without managing DNS for blogspot.com. For a custom domain, choose a Domain property if you control DNS, or a URL-prefix property if you only need to monitor one specific URL version. Then compare the public URL with the verified property.
